Kate Middleton's hospital menu is quite royal
Kate Middleton is getting the royal treatment when she delivers her new baby. The menu for her hospital stay is quite fancy.
When mothers-to-be enter the hospital to give birth to their bundles of joy, they know the food isn't going to be very tasty. Family members and friends always sneak in delicious takeout as a treat.
For Kate Middleton, she won't have any of those problems. On Wednesday, E! News obtained the hospital menu at the fancy Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London and the Duchess of Cambridge is in for quite the royal treat.
The gourmet menu options include three-course meals with appetizers like savory cream of tomato soup to start. Entrée choices include Mediterranean grilled chicken or lamb chops with a choice of side dishes.
Even royalty needs a treat at the end of each meal, so the desserts range from cheese plates to fresh fruit platters or indulgent cheesecake. If a toast is in order, Prince William can order up from a list of champagnes and wines.
Of course, the menu also caters to those with dietary restrictions or religious and cultural requirements. The kitchen can whip up kosher or even vegetarian meals. There's even a Light Bite Menu for a quick meal on the run.
The hospital knows how to treat royalty since it is the same wing that welcomed Princess Diana when she gave birth to her son Prince William 31 years ago. It is a lovely tradition for the family.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the big birth announcement which could come at any moment. Middleton is reportedly due around July 13 or 14.
