Selena Gomez is 21! GIFs that prove she's not an innocent Disney star anymore
Selena Gomez turns 21 on July 22... and no, we can't believe that the sweet girl we met on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place is now able to legally drink. To celebrate her monumental b-day, we've compiled a few GIFs that should've clued us in to her adulthood.
She has some non-Disney dance moves
And she choreographed a dance to a song that talked about a d-bag boyfriend. Coded message to Justin Bieber? We think so.
She looks like this when she hits the red carpet
She was all anyone wanted to talk about at the 2013 ESPYs — and for good reason!
She's not afraid to get a little silly... in a sexy outfit, of course
Only adults like Selena are allowed to have rooms full of balloons.
She's talking about marriage and children... seriously
We're kind of weirded out that Gomez is already thinking about kids, only because it's hard to get the image of her as a young Disney star out of our minds.
"I mean, I'm Latin, so... [laughs]," Gomez recently joked to Ryan Seacrest about how many kids she plans to have. "I don't know, obviously when that time comes I'll decide, but of course I like having a big family."
It won't happen for a few more years though, she said. For now, she's all about getting her own house.
"Yeah, you know I think it's time," she told Seacrest. "I didn't ever wanna be forceful to saying, 'OK, I've made enough to get my own house and OK, let's blow it off and do whatever.' I just love being with my family and I love knowing that they're there. But yeah, I think it's probably time for me to get my own house."
Her fans are growing up and figuring stuff out, just like she is
Gomez's fans are totally cool with her turning into an adult. After all, most of them are around her age and are dealing with the same sorts of issues.
"Half the time I'm too honest onstage when I'm performing. I'm like, 'I wanted to tell you guys...,' and my team is like, 'No!'" Gomez recently joked to MTV of treating her fans like her BFFs. "But as an artist, whether it's acting, performing, singing, writing, you want to share that, because that's where you want the outlet to go. You want to have people understand you a little, but better, but in your own interpretation."
