Rihanna lashed out a fan at a concert on Monday night after they got a little too grabby. She clocked the audience member with her microphone.
It isn’t easy being a music superstar. In fact, it can be downright dangerous. Rihanna proved just that on Monday night at her Diamonds world tour date in Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
The pop star was in the middle of singing “We Found Love” among the crowd. As she was walking by all of the fans in the first few rows, one fan got a little too excited and wouldn’t let go of the 25-year-old singer. That’s when she took matters in her own hands.
Even though RiRi had security detail following her, she clocked the overzealous concertgoer with her microphone. The minor altercation was caught on video.

There is no word if the fan was injured, but the New York Daily News is reporting that the audience member was hit either in the face or on the head.
In most cases, celebrities usually leave any safety issues to their bodyguards, but Rihanna reacted immediately to the fan’s actions. An incident like this could leave the singer open to possible legal action.
The bad publicity continued for the singer even further after the Daily Mail reported that Rihanna showed up two hours late for the performance. She was busy the night before partying in London with U.K. model Cara Delevingne.

It’s not all bad news though for the pop superstar — she just surpassed Justin Bieber as the top artist on YouTube. As of Tuesday, Rihanna hit over 3.7 billion views compared to Bieber’s approximately 3.5 billion views. Following up in third place is “Gangnam Style” singer PSY.
