RED HOT BOOK OF THE WEEK: Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

Finally! Lauren Weisberger has written the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. The story we’ve all been waiting for, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, begins with that unmistakable ringtone… the one Andy Sachs hasn’t heard in 10 years. The one that belongs to the devil herself.

“That ringtone. She would recognize it anywhere for as long as she lived, although Andy wasn’t surprised they were still making phones with it. She simply hadn’t heard it in so long and yet… it all came rushing back. She knew before she pulled her phone from her bag what she would find, but she was still shocked to see those two words on her caller ID screen: Miranda Priestly.”

This description on the back of Revenge Wears Prada was enough to make me flip the book over and begin reading. And once I started I couldn’t stop. I had to find out how the story ended.

About Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns

Fans of The Devil Wears Prada can finally find out what happened to Andy Sachs after she quit her job working for Miranda Priestly at Runway magazine. It’s been almost a decade since she had the job that “a million girls would kill for.” But after the initial glow of the exciting new position wore off, she realized the job was less a dream than a nightmare. Since walking away, Andy and Emily — her former co-assistant and frenemy — have teamed up to start a bridal magazine. The Plunge instantly became required reading for young and stylish brides-to-be.

They no longer have to fetch things for a demeaning boss — they’re the ones calling the shots. Andy writes and travels and Emily secures their advertising and handles their social obligations. And Andy is engaged to be married to her soul mate, media tycoon Max Harrison. Life couldn’t get any better.

But karma’s a b*tch. And on the morning of her wedding, Andy finds a secret letter that shows her that nothing — not even her husband-to-be or her own career — is what it appears to be. She had no clue that the bright new life she’d created for herself was going to lead her right back to the devil herself.
