I was always told to run like the wind from blue eyeshadow. "Blue eyeshadow looks tacky on everyone." And while it certainly can look tacky, that generalization is no reason to shy away from bolder makeup trends that can make you stand out. From vampy makeup to blue eyeshadow, here are seven trends to give a go.

1 /11: Wing Tip Eyeshadow

Not to be mistaken for cat-eye liner, apply your eyeshadow in the shape of a wing tip for a new and bolder take on the look.

2 /11: Wing Tip Eye Shadow

It's wearable for everyday errands, but just add some glitter or use a brighter shade if you want to take it even further.

3 /11: Vampy lipstick

Vampire facials and vampire breast lifts exist so vampy makeup has to be the most subtle way you can take inspiration from vampires in your beauty routine.

Pair a smokey eye with a deep lipstick and it's that simple.

4 /11: Red lips with pale skin

Red lips are nothing new but if you want to make them pop even more, rock a makeupless face. Don't be afraid to go bare and let your red lips do all the work for the rest your makeup bag. At a minimum, apply a light powder to even your skin tone.

5 /11: Neon eyeshadow

Now we're talking. Neon eyeshadow is definitely on the bolder side of bold, but keep a neutral lip and a natural face tone (skip the blush) and you can totally pull it off.

6 /11: Gold eyeshadow

Everyone loves metallics right? Don't quote me on this, but gold eyeshadow may be the new and improved smokey eye.

It's simple but still makes a statement. How can you lose?

8 /11: Glitter eyeliner

If you want to try something new but aren't willing to cake on neon eyeshadow, try a simple swipe of glitter liner.

You can make your liner thicker if you want even more of a statement.

10 /11: Blue eyeshadow

And now for the famous blue eyeshadow. The look sends a fun message that you aren't afraid to take chances. Keep a neutral lip, even out your skin tone with your go-to tinted moisturizer and just own it.

On second thought, pink lipstick never hurt anyone.
