Friday's Fashion Fails: Ryan Lochte and Maria Menounos
Oops... even celebrities get it wrong sometimes! We're telling you why Ryan Lochte and Maria Menounos' fashions fell short in our weekly feature. Learn from the stars' sartorial slip ups!
It's bad enough Ryan Lochte has a signature phrase (Jeah!) and grill collection (for your mouth, not the kind that you cook on), but the Olympic swimmer has also landed an E! reality series entitled What Would Ryan Lochte Do? Apparently, Ryan would attend the E! network upfront presentation in NYC this week wearing this brown ill-fitting suit.
Ryan considers himself a fashion fanatic and even has his very own clothing collection coming out, so you'd think he'd realize that his jacket is too short in the sleeves and too tight in the torso. It looks like the top button is about to bust off at any second. Perhaps he did too many chest presses that day in the gym?
We're also not wild about the color of the suit. Head to toe brown is a tough hue to pull off. If Ryan wanted to wear a colored suit, we bet he'd look great in a navy or green version.
The final verdict? At least he's cute! Although his suit doesn't fit properly, he's got a great smile, which is always a good accessory no matter what you're wearing. When in doubt, stick to your Speedo!
Greetings, earthlings! Maria Menounos comes in peace. She chose this futuristic black and white Ilja couture dress to attend the GLAAD Awards in LA. The designer has also been worn by Lady Gaga in the past, and we think this type of look works better on Mother Monster, not the Extra host.
There's too much happening here, with the structured sleeves, collared neck that turns into a belted waist and a drawstring tie. Plus, we have the return of the dreaded mullet dress, which plagued poor Kerry Washington last week.
This gown is in desperate need of a few edits. We would have left off the longer hemline and train altogether and made it a cocktail dress, or if you kept the length, remove the collar and belt combo. More is not always more!
The final verdict? This isn't our favorite look of Maria's, but her hair and makeup are great, and we love how she does it herself instead of using a glam squad. That's one trend everyone can try!
