Jennifer Lawrence's new haircut is Miley Cyrus approved
Jennifer Lawrence showed off a new, shorter hairstyle over the weekend at the GLAAD Media Awards. We love it — and it turns out that another celeb loves it, too!
Surprised that Jennifer Lawrence cut her trademark long strands into a shorter, shoulder-skimming style? So was her stylist, Mark Townsend. He told Harper's Bazaar that the Oscar-winning actress showed up a few hours before the GLAAD Media Awards and asked for a shorter cut.
"Yesterday, Jennifer showed up an hour before call time and as she opened the door she was like 'Mark I want to cut it all off.' I was like 'What? Are we allowed to do that?' And she said 'Of course, it's my hair!'" he said.
It might have been on a whim, but Lawrence definitely knew how she wanted the finished product to look.
"She didn't want the conventional asymmetrical bob (shorter in the back, longer in the front)," he continued. "She wanted tons of layers — so we went with a full-on shag, with bangs and a lot of face-framing layers. I loosened up the ends by chopping into them with thinning shears. As I cut, I lost track of how many times she said 'I love it!' She was super excited. It's the shortest her hair has been her whole life."
We love it — and at least one famous fan loves it, too: Miley Cyrus.
"I love JLAW's new hair cut," the short-haired singer and actress tweeted on April 22. "Short hair, don't care."
Not quite as short as yours, Miley — but it's getting close!
