Supermodel and super mom Miranda Kerr is known for rocking skimpy lingerie on a runway, but she’s happiest at home in a robe with her son. We caught up with her at the Victoria’s Secret launch of the Fabulous bra and fragrance collection to score her style and parenting tips.
SheKnows: How has your style changed since becoming a mom?
Miranda Kerr: It really depends on if I’m at home or what occasion I’m going to… so if I’m going out or going to work, I like to have fun with fashion and that’s what a lot of people see. But when I’m at home, I literally like to be in my robe and barefoot and that’s just the way that I am. I spend a lot of time at home in LA with my son.
SK: What do you recommend wearing when you’re expecting?
MK: Be comfortable. I loved a lot of maxi dresses when I was pregnant just because you feel free and effortless in a maxi dress.
SK: You have amazing skin. What are your favorite products?
MK: I have my own skin care line, Kora Organics, so I can’t live without it. It’s cleanse, tone, moisturize for me and we have the 3-step pack available. There won’t be international shipping fees anymore for U.S. customers, so that’s very exciting.
SK: How did you get back in such amazing shape after you had Flynn?
MK: I was doing yoga throughout my pregnancy and then when I gave birth, I amped up the Pilates routine and the yoga routine and did a lot of resistance training. I like to eat healthy because I feel my best when I’m putting the right nutrients into my body.
SK: What’s your favorite healthy go-to?
MK: Cold-pressed green juice. It has cucumber juice, celery juice, aloe vera and kale.
SK: Is your son a healthy eater too?
MK: He loves the green juice. He loves his vegetables; he loves fish. So I’m really blessed that he likes to eat healthy. But I do believe in a balance. It’s not all about being healthy 100 percent of the time. It’s about living and enjoying.
SK: What’s the secret to balancing your busy schedule and a baby?
MK: It’s all about planning. I’ve got my year planned out and I know that I’ll have chunks of time off with him and then I’ll have a little chunk of time working, so planning is really essential to all of our lives and to make sure that when I’m with him, we have a lot of that one on one time.
