Beauty beat: Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel prep you on beach time beauty
Exposing a little... OK, a lot of skin is no big thing for Victoria's Secret models Miranda Kerr and Candice Swanepoel. Instead of getting jealous, we sought out a few summer beauty tips to help us get in tune with the sexy side of summer ahead.
Sure, cute swimwear and bathing suits are important, but let's get to the bottom of what really gives these girls no shame.
Be consistent with beauty and body habits
You mean we can't procrastinate about our skin care until summer sneaks up on us? Not according to Miranda Kerr.
Though she has Victoria's Secret swim and lingerie shoots to keep her motivated all year long, she makes a good (and obvious) point: If you want beautiful skin come beach season, you should start thinking about it right after gobbling down those holiday dinners in November and December.
(Note: To maintain her body, she practices yoga and pilates.)
Exfoliate, tint and moisturize
It's a no fail, three step plan! (Make sure you bring your SPF A-game. There's nothing worse than sunburn on summer vacation.)
"I do exfoliate and get a great tan... whether it's natural or with the Victoria's Secret bronzing products," said Candice.
And for Miranda? She believes in a good tinted moisturizer with SPF for a natural, beach-ready look. Add a little mascara and some lip balm and it's hard not to feel beautiful.
Now, about those swimsuits...
Since colored denim and bright prints have already been making the must-have lists for spring fashion, it's no surprise that swimwear is catching on to the same, hot trends.
"I'm loving this neon because it's quite fashion forward and it's flirty as well," Miranda said about her hot pink bikini, part of the Victoria's Secret swim collection of course!
Candice gave us a little insight into the latest line. "It's inspired by Brazil. It's a lot sexier, there are a lot of colors and different prints."
Colors, check. Prints, check. This summer on the beach, it seems we'll see a lot of flirty, eye-catching bathing suits, so don't be afraid to mix and match and stand out from the crowd. Find a bathing suit that fits your body, be brave and buy it in a bright color.
If you're not into the idea of drawing extra attention to you summer body with neon colors, don't sweat it. Even Candice admits she sometimes dons a simple black swimsuit that never goes out of style.
The final beat
Start taking the steps to prep for beach time beauty now. You'll be ready to bask in the sun with confidence at the first sign of summer. And when it comes to attire, wear what you're comfortable in. If there's one thing Candice and Miranda know about beauty, it's that half the battle is feeling confident.
