Most outrageous street style at NYFW
During Fashion Week, we knew the style wouldn't stop at the runway, and you proved it to us, New York fashion fans! Here are your street styles that stopped us in our tracks and topped our list for the Most Outrageous Street Style at New York Fashion Week.
Whether it was outside of a show, in line for Starbucks or at a Fashion Week afterparty, outrageous styles were everywhere we turned, and those daring fashion friends of ours weren't the least bit shy for our cameras.
Here are some of our faves!
Shipwrecked in NYC
At first glance we thought we'd had an Olsen twin sighting, but upon closer inspection, we found these two bring a cute twist to a pirate-inspired look. Perhaps Ginger actually did run away with pirates? Either way, they owned their looks at Fashion Week.
Winter hats indoors and bejeweled backpacks paired with this kind of attitude could only fly in New York City! This pair of sinister style-lovers was here to party. The common thread among all these outrageous fashions finds is that they wear their looks with confidence.
Pretty in pink
Standing nearly eight feet tall with that swarm of butterflies atop his golden locks, this guy reminds us that the most fashionable of looks can't be thrown together last-minute. Nothing says "let's dance" like a pretty pink party dress, and that's just what we would have done with him if the Vera Wang show hadn't been just about to start. Looking fabulous at Fashion Week is what it's all about!
We weren't sure where to begin with this one we found at the Alice & Olivia presentation, but we must mention those skulls on his glasses didn't appear until our camera's flash went off. Holograms aside, his head was the most obvious place for someone's missing clutch (isn't it always the last place you think to look?!) and the caterers wouldn't have dared clear a glass from that armored grip. With fur and feathers all the way down to the ground, he was a friendly, yet odd, fashionable sight to see.
Pink hair is the icing on top of this colorful getup outside Lincoln Center as the Badgley Mischka fall show at Fashion Week concluded Monday. No stranger to all the colors of the rainbow (and probably even the unicorn who trots across), this gal was all peace and happiness and roses, and we couldn't help but smile.
Rocking a corset top and graphic cutouts, these models for Vinton Vital clothing brought the runway right out into the streets of New York. It was no frills for these pretty girls. Instead, leather and chains polished off this hard look as the designer himself handed out fliers by the Lincoln Center fountain.
