Friday’s Fashion Obsessions: Kate Middleton and Rachel McAdams

Welcome to Friday’s Fashion Obsessions, where we’ll share our fave celebrity style each Friday! If we’re crushing on a cute dress or a sexy pair of stilettos, you’ll be the first to know. Up this week? Kate Middleton and Rachel McAdams!

Kate Middleton's first solo appearance

If ever there were a fashion god sent down from heaven, it’s Kate Middleton. Mrs. Prince William (lucky lady!) has quickly become one of the biggest fashion icons in the world and she just seems to get better and better as time goes on.

We’re huge fans of Kate’s ladylike and classic style and love how she mixes trendy pieces with a bit of sophistication. This week, we’re particularly obsessed with the chic look she chose for her first solo public engagement in London.

When she arrived at the National Portrait Gallery this week, Kate stepped out in a gray tweed Jesire dress, black pumps and her always-perfectly coiffed hair. We’re digging the cut of this dress — it shows off her tiny waist perfectly with the cinched, belted waist — and the sleeve detail. Take a look and see how the sleeves puff up and out ever so slightly, and you’ll see why we’re drooling over this look.

The final verdict? This is the perfect royal meets commoner look and we’re definitely going on a Google spree to find something like it ourselves!

Rachel McAdams at premiere of The Vow

Rachel McAdams debuted a bangin’ new look at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, The Vow and wore a smokin’ hot dress to match. First off, we’re loving the subtly beautiful shade of this dress. At first glance, you wouldn’t really notice the pretty pastel color, but if you look closely and really appreciate the dress, you’ll see just how soft and gorgeous it really is.

This dress shows off McAdams’ curves in all the right places and we love the ruched detail. A longer dress like this one could drown a petite gal like McAdams, but she definitely made up for that by wearing nude heels — a woman’s best friend!

The final verdict? We’re not too happy with the actress’ makeup choice — it’s too costumey looking to be honest — but she certainly won us over with the dress. Nice work, Rachel!
