Halloween tutorial: Marilyn Monroe
Halloween has arrived, and if you haven't decided on a costume yet, you can always fall back on the classics. As a kid, your main focus might be the candy, but we adults often use it as an excuse to dress sexy. No one is sexier than Marilyn Monroe, and we're here to help you recreate her gorgeous makeup look.
Michelle Williams is already getting Oscar buzz for her upcoming portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, so we presume there are going to be a lot of blond bombshell costumes this Halloween! Everyone knows about the classic white, billowy dress, the heels and the blond wig. But the makeup takes a bit of instruction. We've got a few products from Mojo cosmetics to help you out with that.

First, the eyes. Under that arched brow, you'll want a nice, nude shadow, because the focus is all on the liner and the lashes. For that gorgeous liner, we're loving Mojo's Pod Cream in Obsidian. It goes on like a cream liner and dries beautifully. They're also blendable and water resistant. (If you've been watching Pan Am, you wonder how they keep crying without that liner running, don't you?) They've also got vitamins A and E as well as chamomile and aloe. Dip a small liner brush in the Pod Cream and drag along the lash line. When you get to the outside of the eye, tilt the brush up about 45 degrees and go just an eighth of an inch beyond and above the lashes. Fill in any white spaces and add either lots of mascara or false lashes.
Face and lips
Keep the blush to a minimum or use a little on the outside of the cheek bones. The focus here is recreating the mouth that sang ''Happy Birthday Mr. President'' to JFK. Mojo has a gorgeous red lipstick called Conviction that matches Marilyn's pretty pout. Their lipsticks have a lovely vanilla/mint scent and a cooling tingle that will make it fun to reapply. Even cooler? They have a case that you can wear around your neck.
