Fox’s mega-popular musical show Glee is getting ready to hit the big screen this weekend with Glee: The 3-D Concert Movie. The cast hit the red carpet last weekend to premiere the film — and stars like Lea Michele and Dianna Agron broke out their best couture for the debut.
“This movie is truly for them as a ‘thank you’ to them for getting us to where we are,” Michele said on the red carpet.
Agron said it wasn’t that easy, either — they only had a matter of days to prepare for their tour.
“We had three days to learn the choreography,” Agron told The Hollywood Reporter. “And, luckily we have the most amazing choreographers. Everybody had a double they would take us all and break us off and teach each other our track. We couldn’t have learned it in three days had we not that that.”
The hard work and constant exercise definitely paid off: both Michele and Agron looked incredible on the red carpet. Of course, Michele and Agron’s Glee characters — Rachel Berry and Quinn Fabray, respectively — are adversaries on the show. So, why not put their outfits in competition, too?
Michele has come a long way over the years — and she faced many challenges to have the success she now enjoys.
“I’m five foot three. I don’t look like a lot of other people, you know what I mean? I look like I’m 12,” Michele said in the interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s September issue. “How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough,’ But I proved them wrong.”
And that she did — her gorgeous Marchesa gown fit all of her curves perfectly. Her shiny ponytail set off the outfit with more sophistication.
“I was so inspired by Lea’s gorgeous Marchesa dress and its texture–I wanted Lea’s hair to have the same texture. It was a pretty humid evening in Los Angeles so I wanted I make sure that Lea’s straight ponytail would not frizz, so I started her style by applying a few drops of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Serum to her damp hair from root to ends and combed through to make sure the serum was evenly distributed. The almond and coconut oils in the Serum absorb into the hair instantly, leaving the hair smooth without weighing it down or making it look greasy,” Michele’s hair stylist, Mark Townsend, told HollywoodLife.
“Next, I blow dried her hair with a large round brush and dried her fringe back, too,” he added. “To give the hair shine and texture, I ran a small amount of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Smoothing Cream through her hair and gathered it into a tight ponytail.”
“I finished by giving her style a final spray of Dove Extra Hold Hairspray.”
Agron has really turned into a blond bombshell through her stint on Glee — and this plunging Christian Cota tulip wrap sleeveless dress with printed textured chiffon gave her another sexy boost. Agron paired her dress with Camilla Skovgaard shoes, a Ferragamo bag, Cathy Waterman jewelry and a H. Stern ring.
We think she looks a lot like Keira Knightley here, don’t you think?
As for her hair, celeb stylist Giannandrea told HollywoodLife that is was all about the ‘shab.’
“I started with wet hair and razor cut her bob into a more playful ‘Shab.’ This is what I call this hair cut! This cut is a progression of the bob but it has more life and does much more when you style it. Then I added Kerastase Volume Active Mousse to the whole head and roots,” Giannandrea said.
“I blow dried the hair — just air, no brushing — until the hair was completely dry. I then brushed it with a large round Mason Pearson brush, I use a brush just for the bangs and blow it straight. The other part of the head was just scrunched and bent with my hands,” the stylist dished. “I then used Klorane Dry Shampoo Spray on the whole roots and top of the head, and back brushed the top part of the head.”
“Finally, I set hair into place with L’Oreal Elnett Hair Spray.”
Lea Michele Vs. Dianna Agron: Who won?
It’s really hard to decide who won this fashion face-off — we usually have a clear-cut winner. However, we’re going to give the crown to Dianna Agron for her sexy look. She makes all the boys swoon — and hey, we’re swooning over her look, too.
Don’t feel bad, Lea: We’d give our right arm to look like you did at the premiere!
