Oscar hairstyles that stood out... in a bad way
It was a night of glitz, glam and showing off. And no one does the Oscars better than Hollywood royalty Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway. But did their hairstyles hold up on the red carpet?
Braided buns and Barbie, oh my!
Reese Witherspoon showed up to the Academy Awards on Sunday night in Hollywood looking like Barbie circa 1960. Though the Walk the Line Oscar-winner looked stunning in a simple black and white gown, her big hair ponytail updo looked more flight attendant than Oscar winner.
In her June Carter Cash-meets-Barbie hair style, which at first glance looks like a pony tail, but then becomes something else, Witherspoon raised eyebrows on her fashion choices at the Oscars on Sunday.
It's sort of half-up and half-down. And with nary a bobby pin in sight, how did her stylist pull that off?
It's a cute look, but it just didn't go with the gown. Sorry, Reese!
Another Oscar 'do that didn't hold up
Moving on to Anne Hathaway. Sure, the girl was busy hosting the Oscars, singing, flirting with James Franco and telling bad jokes all night. It's really a miracle that she even had time to change her outfits, let alone her hair.
So when she walked out on stage with a braided bun atop her noggin, well... just look and see for yourself.
The heavy, forehead tightening updo makes her look older than she is. And it's so clearly not her hair! (Sometimes extensions are not a good thing!) She would have just glowed in a simple bun with that gorgeous gown. I guess there's always next year.
What do you think of Hathaway's braided bun and Witherspoon's Barbie look? Hit or miss?
