Lohan, Simpson, the Olsens (still pairing them as one), Moss, and Jolie are Hollywood’s most talked about stars. Get in on the scoop and read what Lagerfeld has to say about our most favorite celebs and their trends.
Designer Karl Lagerfeld has always been known in the fashion industry for his forthrightness, both in his Chanel creations and from his mouth. His recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar is no different. The pony-tailed couturier let the mag know exactly how he feels about the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, The Olsen Twins and others — and it ain’t always pretty. Want some highlights? (Yes, you do — it’s so juicy!)
On Lindsay Lohan: “She’s somebody you want to protect, because she plays dangerously with her own life. She behaves like an over-grown-up person, and that’s what I like about her. It’s like she’s 45, but in fact, she’s 20.” Translation: Her (alleged) drug problem makes me want to send her to rehab. Her partying and fake bake habits have aged her 25 years in the past three.
On Jessica Simpson: “Ecch. I’m not that impressed. I’m not that interested. I’m not that impressed.” Translation: I am a flamboyant fashion designer and her chest does nothing for me, therefore she has nothing to offer.
On the Olsen twins: “They don’t have a strong enough image. They still have to make the movie that everybody remembers.” Bag lady-esque? “Extreeemely.” Translation: They don’t wear enough Chanel. They need to make a movie in which they wear Chanel.
On Kate Moss: “Girls have wanted to look like Kate Moss since she was an emaciated 15-year-old. Kate Moss has a lot of courage in the way she throws her life away in a very dangerous way, but that makes her so touching.” Translation: Her drug bust is the best thing to happen to her career in a decade.
On Kate’s on-again, off-again boy Pete Doherty: “He’s gone. His music – the look – is over now. there’s nothing to think about it. It is too late.” Translation: Take a shower.
On Angelina Jolie: “Stunningly beautiful. She has the kind of mouth other people pay to get.” Translation: I wish she was a dude. I can feel the crack of his designer whip from here.
