How to wear culottes to the office and look totally chic

Most nine-to-fives have shorts restricted on their dress code list, but culottes can be an ideal alternative for summer. When some older styles resurface from the runways, it starts to pour over into the street trends and then eventually to everyday people. Certain trends can be tricky and others take some courage to pursue. Let's take culottes for instance: the old-school, wide-leg pants that hit below the knee. Yes, they are back and have been back for about a year now.

Lately, I've been witnessing these pants get some major action and I couldn't resist jumping on the bandwagon myself. It's refreshing to see pants from the 1960s era be the new modern-day bottom of choice. For ladies who have a day job that requires them to dress up a bit, this trend may just fill that void for the summer. We all know it's unbearably hot and some days can reach the 90s to 100s in temperature, so since shorts are usually not allowed, just go ahead and grab a pair of gauchos.
