A glitter eye makeup tutorial for grown-ups (PHOTOS)
New Year's Eve and glitter go together like peanut butter and jelly. If there's one time of year where it's not only appropriate, but expected that you sport some fairy dust, it's New Year's Eve. Here's a subtle, grown-up way to incorporate some of the sparkly stuff into your eye makeup look!
I'm going to use my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette for this look. I'm using the color "Tease" on a crease brush and sweeping this into the crease first.
Now, dipping into "Verve" with a flat shader brush, press the color all over your lid.
Using a smudge brush, place "Busted" at the outer corner only.
Now grab a blending brush and soften that out, bringing it into the crease ever so slightly.
Using that same smudge brush, dip into "Busted" a little bit and drag along the lower lash line.
Place the color "Bootycall" on the top of the brow bone only to highlight.
Line the inner rim of your lower lashes with a soft black kohl liner.
Using a black gel liner, line the top lash line with an angled brush. Create a wing at the outer edge.
Using that same angled brush and black gel liner, extend your line past the inner corner of your eye.
Coat lower and upper lashes with mascara.
Using a silver glitter eyeliner, place a line of silver glitter below your inner corner gel liner. You will want to let it dry and go over several times to achieve the level of glitter you want.
Draw a thin line of silver glitter liner under the wing you created. Let it dry and layer until you have a bright and sparkling line.
Optional: If you want to really up the ante, apply individual lashes or strip lashes.
Now go make some jaws drop before the ball drops.
