Montreal’s known as a stylish city; snap up the beauty look from the Tavan & Mitto show at Montreal Fashion Week.
With the 23rd edition of Montreal Fashion Week just wrapped up, SheKnows got a sneak peek at one of the makeup and hair looks we’ll be wanting to sport come spring 2013 at the show for Tavan & Mitto. And even those of you with less-than-superb cosmetic and hair styling skills are in luck, as the look is pretty simple to achieve.
With rich, vibrant colours in the clothing collection (lots of emerald green and purple and some shiny textures), the designers wanted to keep the makeup elegant and sexy. CoverGirl makeup pro Amelie Ducharme gave the skin an even look using two shades of CoverGirl Clean Foundation — a lighter shade toward the middle of the face and a darker shade on the cheeks, nose, forehead and jawline, giving a subtle glowing effect. Then to give the skin a wet, dewy finish, she used CoverGirl ShineBlast lip gloss in Clear on the temples and toward the cheekbones in a C-shape. (For everyday wear, Ducharme suggests spritzing the skin with a water atomizer such as the one from Evian.)
To create a soft, smoky effect on the eyes, Ducharme started with the brown shade from CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast Bronze Fire 815 on the lids, then set it with CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Swiss Chocolate 730. Then to the inner corner of the eye she added a touch of highlight using the beige end of Smoky ShadowBlast Bronze Fire 815. To the lashes she applied the truest black — LashBlast 24 HR mascara — for volume and length. And finally on the lips she applied two shades of NatureLuxe Gloss Balms — Anemone and Clay.
The idea was for the hair to look like it does right after one takes a shower. “But that’s not easy to do when you’re doing hair three hours before the runway show,” says Denis Binet, lead hair stylist at Montreal Fashion Week. To achieve the look, Binet wet the hair from roots to ends and then applied Sebastian Whipped Creme mousse to the ends to give the hair texture. To help keep a wet look after brushing out the hair, he applied Sebastian Liquid Gloss and then brushed the hair from the roots straight back. The result is very fresh and clean feeling.
