Black-tie makeup in 10 min or less (PHOTOS)
Whether it’s a last-minute party invite at 4:30 or the get-together you totally spaced on, this tutorial will get you out the door looking perfectly planned and no one has to know you scrambled. This look says "I tried" without much trying at all. You can apply it over your workday makeup without washing your face. The best part? You don't need brushes.
Start by sketching an eye pencil like Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof in Black across the top lash line. Fill in about half of your lid.
Next, take an espresso-colored pencil like NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Dark Brown, filling the rest of the lid up to the crease.
Use your finger to blend the two colors together, creating a soft gradient.
Line the waterline with the black pencil. This will add instant drama.
Using the dark brown pencil, apply a small amount to the lower lash line.
Smudge the liner with your finger to soften it out.
Dip your ring finger into a loose, gold pigment like bareMinerals Eyecolor in Good Fortune. Press onto the center of your lid only. Build in layers. When your eye is open, this will highlight the iris.
Now take more of the same gold pigment on your pinky finger and press onto the center of the lower lid. Take the excess and press onto the inner corners of your eyes.
Apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
Get those brows into shape by quickly running a tinted brow gel like Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in Granite through them. Or, here's how to make your own brow pomade for cheaper.
Red can be a little too expected so try a party pink instead! Givenchy’s Le Rouge Lipstick in Rose Dressing is one of my favorites because it’s a coral pink, without being too neon.
Press a golden gloss onto the center of the lip only. I used Borghese Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss in Gilt.
Now throw on some statement earrings, and let your hair down!
