With Fashion Week in full swing, things are about to get pretty hectic for Pamella Roland, but her soon-to-be unveiled collection is anything but chaotic. In fact, it's the exact antithesis of the word.

When planning her spring 2015 collection, the acclaimed designer drew on a time she spent living outside the United States: "The inspiration for each collection is always very personal and spring 2015 was inspired by a time when I lived in Japan and visited the beautiful gardens of Kyoto. It was an amazing experience that had a strong influence on my appreciation for art and design."

The natural beauty Roland drew inspiration from definitely translates into the sheer fabrics and soft, feminine colors that dominate the much-anticipated collection. You could say she's keeping things simple and chic, just the way she likes it: "The best [fashion] advice I’ve ever received is to keep it simple… Less is more."

Except when it comes to her approach to fall fashion, of course. "For fall I always recommend dressing in layers and making sure that each layer is part of the total look," she says. Slightly oversized statement coats also rank at the top of Roland's must-have list for the cooler months.

The trend is definitely one that works for a huge range of body types, something that's important to Roland as a designer. "As a mother with two daughters I think it’s very important to promote a healthy and positive body image. I believe designing for a wide range of sizes and ages is what has helped grow our business both here in the U.S. and internationally as well," she says.

"Fit is something that is very important to me and we always make sure to design styles that fit a range of body types," she continues. "We are frequently asked for a dress or gown with a sleeve and it’s something we include in each collection."

Fashion that fits well and looks great on a range of beautiful body types? We can get behind that idea.
