Friday's Fashion Fails: Jennifer Lopez and Kristen Wiig
Oops... even celebrities get it wrong sometimes! We're telling you why Jennifer Lopez and Kristen Wiig's fashions fell short in our weekly feature. Learn from the stars' sartorial slip ups!
Oh, girl... here's Jennifer Lopez at the Human Rights Campaign dinner in Washington, proving that even the fiercest divas have the right to dress heinously sometimes. Jenny from the block covered her famous curves in a deep crimson dress from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2013 couture collection, and it's a bloody mess.
The dark color of the gown, combined with the sheer panels and stringy embellishments all over, is reminiscent of veins and arteries. When your dress looks like a circulatory system and reminds us of high school anatomy class, it's not good. She's worn this designer's dresses many times before and looked flawless, but we're giving this one a DNR.
The final verdict? The singer and mom was on hand to receive the Ally for Equality Award at the event, so at least we can applaud her humanitarian efforts if not her sartorial ones this time. Please save the turtlenecks and ponytail for your next PTA meeting, J. Lo.
What in the world was Kristen Wiig thinking when she wore this tulle-rific Marchesa creation to a New York City screening of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty? We love the Saturday Night Live funny lady, but this nude colored princess dress is all wrong for her for so many reasons.
Firstly, it's totally off beat and off brand for the actress, who usually sticks to a casual, classic chic look. The frothy Champagne color, fussy lace and embroidery would be right on point if she was dressing as Kate Middleton for a Halloween party or attending high tea at Buckingham Palace. But for a red carpet event, it just looks stuffy. The only celeb we could see pulling this off is Taylor Swift.
The final verdict? The ballerina gown also looks a little loose in the sleeves and the gray closed toe pumps don't match at all. Kristen's hair is rather messy looking, as well. With a dress as frou-frou as this, we'd wear our locks pulled back in a high bun or romantic ringlets.
