You’ve seen mint green all over the scene so far in 2012, and yes, it will remain a strong color trend into the fall. But what about the other shades? Army green, sage green and kelly green are all chic shades that have arrived just in time to make your friends green with envy.
Ahh, soothing sage. A great color choice for a bedroom wall — or a comfortable sweater! Cozy up in the cooler weather with this trendy color! Wear this look with natural and fresh-looking makeup and hair. One suggestion though: Avoid wearing this color in a dress. It is an extremely popular wedding color and could easily read bridesmaid.
Our pick: Open-stitch sweater, $60, Victoria’s Secret
Best colors to pair it with: Camel or navy blue
Great looking on jackets, vests and button-up dresses, army green is the perfect color for summer and fall! There are many variations to the army green color (think all the different shades of camouflage), but any of them work. We love this color on a jacket casually layered over a sheer cream sweater with black leggings or on a vest over a cotton tee and paired with a body-hugging striped pink pencil skirt.
Our pick: Natalie Jacket, $98 Abercrombie and Fitch
Best colors to pair it with: Light pink or black
Crisp, bright, fresh, funky… this shade can be worn so many ways! But one thing’s for sure; whenever you’re in kelly green, you’re the life of the party! Kelly green will keep the feeling of summer around a little longer. Wear this color as an accent in a bright bib necklace or in a casual and fun dress. I’m not as much of a fan when this color is used in separates such as silk blouses or mini skirts, because it can be difficult to make the entire outfit feel connected.
Our pick: O’Neill rainbow green print dress, $34, Lulus
Best colors to pair it with: Vibrant purple or gold
