Weekend wins: Lucy Hale, Carly Rae Jepsen & Olivia Holt

Summer is here — and these celebs are ringing in the new season with some serious style.

Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen went futuristic at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Japan in her metallic purple Moschino dress and Lauren Merkin Lucca crocodile clutch ($275).

The look is a bit of a departure for the "Call Me Maybe" singer, but it's all part of her shift from bubblegum to electropop.

"My favorite pop artists at the moment are Robyn... Kimbra, La Roux and Dragonette," Jepsen tells Billboard of the influences for her new album. "And I think I have a folky side in my blood from what I used to listen to with my parents, and it'll be fun to incorporate [more of that] in the verses of the pop songs, a little something deeper to the verses."

Lucy Hale

It seems like summer 2013 is the season of the crop top — and Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale showed us how it's done over the weekend in NYC. The face of Bongo tooled around the city in her black lace top paired with a feminine white lace skirt, straw hat and monogrammed necklace.

Not surprisingly, the actress once told WhoWhatWear that she loves the fashion choices of another crop-top enthusiast, Vanessa Hudgens.

"I love the classic [style icons] like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, but I really admire girls my age, like Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus, for their everyday style," she said.

Olivia Holt

Disney star Olivia Holt might be only 15, but she looks a lot older than her years in the leopard-print Alexa von Canisius dress she wore to The Lone Ranger's premiere in Los Angeles. The dress — from the designer's pre-fall/winter 2013 collection — also features a bit of peplum detail.
