Meet the Bundys
![]() Meet the BundysFacing life’s challenges head-on is something Scott and Stacie Bundy have learned to do all too well. A few years ago, when Scott was diagnosed with a tumor in his spinal cord, life as they knew it quickly changed. When faced with the decision to undergo surgery that would leave him paralyzed, Scott knew it was his best option to live to see his young son, Jakob, grow to adulthood. Prior to Scott’s life-changing surgery, he lived a highly active lifestyle. He enjoyed biking and other outdoor activities, and especially loved playing with his 2-year-old son. However, after facing his cancer head-on, Scott’s new way of life left him bound to a wheelchair. Tasks which were once simple suddenly became challenging or required assistance. Soon after Scott’s surgery, the Bundys learned their home of nearly seven years would require modification to accommodate life in a wheelchair. Several doorways were too narrow, shelves were too high and many areas throughout their home were not easily accessible -- including their son’s nursery. The Bundys made as many changes to their home as possible, but between work, raising their son and focusing on Scott’s recovery, their “to-do” list quickly came to a stand-still. Cracked tile, broken electrical switches, unfinished trim and limited storage options left their home feeling disheveled. It was time for a Homergency! Now, with help from SheKnows, the list of never-ending projects has finally been tackled -- leaving the Bundys with the comfortable home they’ve always dreamed of. |
