Matt Locke sold the house he designed and built in Colorado to move in 2005 to Los Angeles to persue a life of media and design. After a TV debut on Jeopardy in 2007, Matt received national attention on HGTV's Design Star and Showdown.
In 2009 Matt presented a new collection of functional sculptures and created the VIP lounge for Dwell Magazine's Dwell on Design, then appeared for SC Johnson in their national Right@Home campaign, offering design tips for every room of the house. Currently Matt designs and builds interiors, prototypes products, and curates new art and furnishings from emerging talent in a collection at the LA Mart Design Center called SOURCE LA. Matt is also working on a custom art installation for a private home under construction in Southern California - Matt's take on the New York City Subway map in wood, metal and glass. Matt holds a bachelor's degree in American history from Princeton University, studied fine art at the Savannah College of Art & Design, and industrial design at Chicago's Institute of Design (originally the New Bauhaus).
