Meet the Thornhills' design team: Tracee Dore Interior Design

About Tracee Dore

Tracee Dore's passion for design began as a teenager working hand in hand with her father in his highly respected construction company. While studying interior design at the University of Kentucky, Tracee was hired by one of her father's clients to design their custom home. That year (1993) at only 21 years old, she started Tracee Dore Interior Design.

Recognition & Awards

Tracee's internationally recognized design work has appeared in Better Homes and Gardens, Kentucky Home and Gardens, Today's Woman Magazine, Sophisticated Living, Louisville Magazine and many other publications.

Today's Woman Magazine has recognized her three years in a row as one of the Most Admired Women in Louisville and Southern Indiana. Tracee, along with her design team, won the Association of Builders and Contractors Merit of Honor Award for designing Fasig-Tipton, numerous designer show house and Homearama awards, runner-up in the Chicago Tribune International Design Competition, and the Mayor's Beautification Award for an exterior renovation in Ohio. "I love being an interior designer and helping people express themselves through their interiors," says Dore. "It is also exciting that everyday I do something totally different, whether it is helping my designers grow their clientele, designing schemes for clients or installing a job in a client's home and seeing them full of joy. Setting new design trends and being innovative really keeps me inspired."

About HomeStretch, Dore says: "Taking part in the show was somewhat of a difficult decision for me in some aspects. Leaving my family is always tough, but helping another that truly deserves a wonderful home made it all worth it. I love sharing design ideas with viewers and show how easy design can be -- you just have to push your creativity and believe you can do great design. Set the trends...don't follow them!"
