The Biggest Night In British Music Is Here!

Tonight the O2 Arena in London will play host to some of the biggest stars in the music world as the annual Brit Awards take place. Rihanna, Coldplay and Blur are all set to perform, while Ed Sheeran and Adele are hotly tipped to leave with their arms full of awards.

Rihanna

There are high expectation for British songstress Adele at this evening's Brit Awards, after the singer took home all six of the awards for which she was nominated at last week's Grammys. However, she could have some competition on her hands from 2011's breakthrough artists Jessie J and Ed Sheeran. Sheeran has the most nominations of the night with four, but as Adele made such a lasting impression at the Brits last year with her now legendary performance of "Someone Like You" that bookies are predicting she will be the name on everyone's lips at the 2012 ceremony.

Tonight isn't just about the awards, though. There will also be entertainment from a variety of the world's biggest music stars, ranging from international pop acts such as Rihanna (pictured) and Bruno Mars to established British artists such as Coldplay and Noel Gallagher. It will be interesting to see if Oasis and Blur's old rivalries return as Blur will be taking home this year's lifetime achievement award, and they will be reuniting for a special performance of some of their greatest hits.

If there is one thing that we can be sure of at the Brits, it's that we should expect the unexpected. Whether it's a stage invasion from a drunk celebrity or a big name act going home empty handed, there's sure to be at least one moment everyone will be talking about the next day.

Noel Gallagher with Coldplay was horrible. He sings in falsetto, the drums were irregular and his voice was out of tune. Thank God they didn't win awards
