The Dancing On Ice 2012 Curse Is Back!

It was a dramatic performance for Jennifer Ellison and her partner Daniel Whiston on last night's Dancing On Ice, as the former Brookside actress managed to cut her head with her own ice skate!

Jennifer Ellison proved she's a real trooper after last night's Dancing On Ice, during which she cut her head during her performance but still kept dancing regardless! The accident happened when Ellison attempted the notoriously tricky Scorpion Kick, which involves kicking her leg behind her head. Jennifer caught the top of her head with the blade of her ice skate, and ended the routine with blood in her hair.

Jennifer had her head glued up by medics and headed home from the TV studio with her husband Robbie Tickle. She tweeted later to reassure her fans that she was "absolutely fine" although she expected to have a headache in the morning. Jennifer Ellison also went home happy as she received enough public votes to compete again next week, and got her highest score yet from the judges, showing that her hard work is paying off.

This wasn't the first injury for Ellison during her time as a Dancing On Ice contestant. She also cracked a rib in rehearsals a few weeks ago, when attempting a complicated lift with her partner Daniel Whiston. This year's series of Dancing On Ice has had so many injuries that some have even called it cursed, particularly as two contestants, Chesney Hawkes and Keith Chegwin, both had to pull out before the competition even began, which has never happened before. Maybe the celebrities should wear protective padding from now on?
