It's Six Out Of Six For Adele At The Grammys
Last night's Grammy Awards ceremony was a huge triumph for the U.K. with Adele as the biggest winner of the night, and Coldplay and Paul McCartney providing two of the most impressive performances.
It hasn't been the best few months for Adele, as she's had to cancel live performances and promo appearances after undergoing surgery for throat problems, but she made an incredible return to the public eye at last night's Grammy Awards. Not only did the London-born singer perform her hit "Rolling in the Deep," but she also took home all six of the awards she was nominated for! Adele beat off competition from American superstars such as Bruno Mars and Katy Perry to win Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Short Form Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performance. Other British winners on the night included Paul Epworth for Producer of the Year, for his work with Adele and Foster The People, and Paul McCartney, who won Historical Album of the Year for the re-release of the 1973 album Band on the Run. McCartney, whose new album Kisses on the Bottom was released last week, was one of the performers on the night, representing the U.K. along with Adele and Coldplay, who duetted with Rihanna on the song "Princess of China." However, the most memorable moment from the ceremony was the tribute to Whitney Houston, who passed away on Saturday, performed by Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer sang a moving, partly acapella version of "I Will Always Love You," a song that was a huge hit for Whitney in the 1990s. Image courtesy of Adriana M.
