Electra Controversial As BGT Judge

Carmen Electra may have received boos from the audience when she stood in for Amanda Holden on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel, but head judge and show producer Simon Cowell has taken quite a liking to the former Playboy model.

American actress and model Carmen Electra was drafted in to cover for Amanda Holden while she was unable to attend Britain's Got Talent auditions due to the recent birth of her daughter, Hollie. As Amanda is a popular judge on the show, it would naturally be difficult to take her place, but no one could have guessed how much Carmen's appearance would anger the audience during filming this week.

According to one audience member, "Carmen was booed the second she opened her mouth, and all she did was tell a group they 'looked cute.'" Another said that comedian David Walliams, who joins the judging panel this year along with singer Alesha Dixon, didn't help to make things easier for Electra, cracking jokes to suggest her comments about auditionees were stupid.

However, it turned out that Carmen Electra did have one supporter on the panel, in the form of head judge Simon Cowell, who is also the producer of the show. It has been claimed that Cowell and Electra were "all over each other" at the auditions, with some onlookers suggesting there could be a secret romance between the pair! As Simon recently separated from his fiancée Mezghan Hussainy, perhaps inviting Carmen Electra to guest judge on Britain's Got Talent was simply an excuse to spend time with the new object of his affections? Either way, Mezghan probably won't want to watch the audition shows featuring Carmen when they are aired this spring!
