Taylor Takes A Tour Of Rainy London

Country music superstar Taylor Swift has been spotted in London this week, but she's not here for a gig or TV appearance. In fact, she was in the U.K. to meet the producer of the musical Les Miserables. Taylor is rumoured to be playing Eponine in the forthcoming film adaptation, which would be her first major big screen role.

Taylor Swift has been getting to know the U.K.'s capital city this week, visiting the London attractions. The "Love Story" singer was in town to meet Cameron Mackintosh, the producer of Les Miserables. Taylor is one of a number of American starlets reportedly being considered for the lead role of Eponine in the new film version of the musical, which itself is based on a 1862 novel by Victor Hugo.

Swift made the most of being in London, with a relaxing walk in Hyde Park, where she stopped to feed some swans, listened to music on her phone and hid from the rain with an enormous umbrella. Taylor also visited the memorial to Princess Diana during her walk around the park.

Taylor Swift's day taking in the sights of London is a rare break for the 22-year-old star, who achieved incredible success with her last album Speak Now, which sold more than a million copies in its first week in 2010. Taylor recently completed a U.S. tour, which had 80 shows, and is now spending time working on her fourth album, as well as preparing for a tour of Australasia in March.
