Be A Blanketeer!

There are various non-profit organizations that accept hand-crafted donations -- one of which is Project Linus. Find out more here.

linus-blankets.gifProject Linus accepts donations of new, handmade blankets for babies, children, and teens in need. The organization is named after the popular Peanuts character, Linus, who was never seen without his security blanket. Project Linus' mission is "to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers." lt is simple to become a "blanketeer!" All you do is make a banket and donate it to your local chapter of Project Linus. It will then be given to a child in need. Local chapters can be found on Project Linus' website. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, sewn or quilted. I've felt really great about the several blankets I've donated to Project Linus. Your gift will comfort a child in need!
