A walk on the wild side with this great stew which can be served over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds venison
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1/4 cup beer
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms

Directions

  1. Cut venison into 1/2 inch cubes and set aside.
  2. Cut bacon and cook in a skillet.
  3. Brown venison in bacon drippings and olive oil.
  4. Add remaining ingredients, except mushrooms.
  5. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Add mushrooms and cook 20 minutes longer.
