Venison Pot Roast is hearty and tender.

Ingredients

  • 4 pound venison roast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 6 onions, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • salt water to soak roast
  • 3 potatoes, cubed
  • 3 carrots, chopped

Directions

  1. Soak roast in salt water overnight.
  2. Remove roast and dry. Mix salt, pepper and flour. Rub mixture into meat. Heat oil and add onions. Brown meat on all sides and add a cup of water. Cover tightly.
  3. Cook on top of stove until tender. Add potatoes and carrots about 30 minutes before the roast is done.
