Vegetable Cheese Chowder freezes well; just add peas right before serving.
Ingredients
- 12 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cups celery, finely chopped
- 2 cups carrots, finely chopped
- 3/4 pound butter
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1 large jar Cheez Whiz
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
- 1/2 package frozen peas
Directions
- Dissolve bouillon cubes in 3 quarts water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add onion, celery and carrots. Cook until tender.
- Melt butter; add flour, blending to a smooth paste. Add to vegetables in bouillon; blend thoroughly. Add Cheez Whiz; mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add chicken and peas; blend well.
