Vegetable Cheese Chowder freezes well;  just add peas right before serving.


  • 12 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cups celery, finely chopped
  • 2 cups carrots, finely chopped
  • 3/4 pound butter
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 large jar Cheez Whiz
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, diced
  • 1/2 package frozen peas


  1. Dissolve bouillon cubes in 3 quarts water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add onion, celery and carrots. Cook until tender.
  2. Melt butter; add flour, blending to a smooth paste. Add to vegetables in bouillon; blend thoroughly. Add Cheez Whiz; mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add chicken and peas; blend well.
