Spreading this sweet and creamy frosting on a classic white cake makes a beautiful white-on-white dessert.


  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla v
  • 8 cups powdered sugar


  1. Place the butter, sour cream, and vanilla into a large bowl and beat with a handheld mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
  2. Sprinkle in the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time and continue to beat until blended.
