Vanilla Simple Syrup

Use this syrup to sweeten drinks instead of sugar. The delicate hint of vanilla flavor is made from using real vanilla beans.


  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 vanilla beans


  1. Place the sugar and water into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Once sugar has dissolved remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Using a sharp knife split the vanilla beans, lengthwise, in half and place into a heatproof bottle.
  3. Pour the boiling sugar mixture into the bottle and let stand for 10 minutes.
  4. Close the bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
