Master mixologist Dale DeGroff shares his family’s famous eggnog recipe that blends a bourbon and spiced rum-based drink with eggs, milk, cream and sugar. Serve dusted with freshly grated nutmeg.
Ingredients
- 6 Separated eggs
- 1 quart Whole Milk
- 1 pint Heavy Cream
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 8 ounces Bourbon
- 4 ounces Spiced rum
- Freshly grated nutmeg to garnish
Directions
- Place the egg yolks and the sugar into a bowl and beat until the mixture becomes light in color. Add in the milk, cream, bourbon and rum and continue to mix until blended.
- Place the egg whites in a separate bowl and beat until they form soft peas. Fold the beaten egg whites into the bourbon mixture and then pour into serving glasses. Serve immediately garnished with freshly grated nutmeg.
