When making a cocktail with vermouth, it is important to note that many people refer to dry or white vermouth as ‘French vermouth’ and sweet or red vermouth as ‘Italian vermouth.’

Ingredients

1 Dash Maraschino
1 Dash Absinthe
2 Dashes Orange Bitters
3 ounces gin
3 ounces dry vermouth
Cherry to garnish

Directions

Place all of the ingredients, except for the cherry, into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Vigorously shake the mixture for 35 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish the drink with the cherry and then serve immediately.
