Southern turnip and pork recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 turnip roots
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 slices salt pork
Directions
- Cut the turnips 1/4 inch thick.
- Combine everything together in a heavy pot. Cover and cook on high for 5 minutes, reduce to low and cook for 30 more minutes (or until tender).
