This cocktail had its heyday of popularity in the ‘50s, and since then is still known, and occasionally requested, in most bars. Using freshly squeezed lemon juice is the secret to this slightly sweet and tart beverage.

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • dash of bitters
  • soda water
  • Lemon twist to garnish

  1. Place the gin, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup into a tall glass filled with ice and stir to combine.
  2. Top the drink with the soda, stir once again to combine and then serve immediately garnished with the lemon twist.
