Texas Hot Cocoa Cake is a chocolate lover's favorite.

Ingredients

2 stick margarine
1 cup water
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Combine margarine, water and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Set aside.
Combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Add boiled mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour into a sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.

It's not a true Texas anything cake unless you use real butter and shortening. Also, it has to be iced with a combination of melted butter, cocoa, milk and 1lb. box of confectioners' sugar. The original cake recipe calls for buttermilk, but the sour cream is interesting and I might try it some time.
