A classic mint julep made with fresh tarragon leaves. Intended to be enjoyed slowly for several hours.


  • 12 fresh tarragon leaves
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 1/2 ounces bourbon


  1. Add the leaves to the bottom of a highball glass. Add the water and sugar and use the back end of a wooden spoon to muddle it until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Fill with crushed ice and slide the remaining leaves down the side of the glass. Pour the bourbon over.
