Tamari, meaning "little puddle" in Japanese, is a rich, naturally fermented soy sauce used in Japanese cooking.  Combined with smoked paprika, it makes a wonderful and flavorful coating for roasted, mixed nuts.

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 3 tablespoons tamari
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spread the nuts in a single layer on a baking dish, and then place in the oven for 12 minutes.
  3. Remove the nuts, and quickly add the tamari and the paprika to the pan. Stir well to coat and then place the nuts back into the oven for an addition 3 minutes. Allow the nuts to cool prior to serving.
