Tamari, meaning "little puddle" in Japanese, is a rich, naturally fermented soy sauce used in Japanese cooking. Combined with smoked paprika, it makes a wonderful and flavorful coating for roasted, mixed nuts.
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cashews
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 3 tablespoons tamari
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Spread the nuts in a single layer on a baking dish, and then place in the oven for 12 minutes.
- Remove the nuts, and quickly add the tamari and the paprika to the pan. Stir well to coat and then place the nuts back into the oven for an addition 3 minutes. Allow the nuts to cool prior to serving.
