Szechuan-Style Tofu Marinade

This simple marinade adds new depth and flavor to tofu.


  • 3/8 cup (6 tablespoons) low sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 3/8 cup water
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 fresh or dried cayenne pepper, minced


  1. Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir with a whisk to combine.
  2. Add the tofu and marinate for at least 1 hour.
