This cornbread recipe is sweeter than most, but deliciously popular.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2-1/2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1-1/2 cups milk

Directions

  1. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat sugar and eggs together; add to flour combination.
  3. Stir in butter and milk; mix well.
  4. Pour mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
