Ingredients

  • Meat Balls: 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons cracker meal
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Sauce: 1, 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 6 ginger snaps, crushed

Directions

  1. Mix together meat ball ingredients except for butter. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Heat butter and brown meat balls.
  2. For sauce: Mix all ingredients together except for ginger snaps. Simmer 1 1/2 hour with meat balls. Add ginger snaps and simmer 30 minutes more.
