Stuffed Meat Loaf is topped with strips of bacon.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground veal
- 1/2 pound ground lamb
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pepper to taste
- 8 slices bacon
- Stuffing: 3 cups bread cubes
- 2 tablespoons onion, chopped fine
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Mix meats; add egg, water and seasonings. Mix well and pat 1/2 inch thick on a sheet of waxed paper.
- Mix stuffing ingredients together and spread on meat mixture. Roll like a jelly roll. Place in greased baking pan and cover with bacon slices. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until done.
