Stuffed Meat Loaf is topped with strips of bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground veal
  • 1/2 pound ground lamb
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 8 slices bacon
  • Stuffing: 3 cups bread cubes
  • 2 tablespoons onion, chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Mix meats; add egg, water and seasonings. Mix well and pat 1/2 inch thick on a sheet of waxed paper.
  2. Mix stuffing ingredients together and spread on meat mixture. Roll like a jelly roll. Place in greased baking pan and cover with bacon slices. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until done.
