Black tea is infused with a wonderful blend of flavors like apple, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves to create this fragrant and appealing spiced apple tea beverage.


  • 1 lemon, peeled and juiced
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 inches stick cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 6 black tea bags
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup


  1. Put the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and the lemon peel into a piece of cheesecloth, bring up the sides and secure with string to make a pouch.
  2. Place the apple juice, water, and 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice into a saucepan, add the spice pouch and then bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Take the pan off the heat, add the tea and let the mixture steep, covered, for 6 minutes. Remove and discard the tea and spice pouch and then add the maple syrup. Stir well to blend and then serve.
