Speaking in Tongues Cocktail

A combination of Mezcal, a Mexican spirit made from the agave plant, and Luxardo Amaro, bitters infused with cardamom, cinnamon and bitter orange peel, are the main ingredients in this refreshing cocktail.


  • 1 ounce mezcal
  • 1 ounce Luxardo Amaro
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
  • 1 strawberry, quartered
  • 1 strawberry to garnish


  1. Place the quartered strawberry in a cocktail shaker and muddle until fully mashed. Add the remaining ingredients, except for the garnish, and then fill the shaker with ice.
  2. Vigorously shake the mixture for 30 seconds and then double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh crushed ice.
  3. Garnish the cocktail with the fresh strawberry and serve immediately.
